How to Start Career in IT? HTP Gives Answers

On May 26, the Hi-Tech Park hosted an annual meeting with high school students planning to get an IT profession. The event was attended by over 400 students from across the country, including Minsk, Orsha, Lida, Novopolotsk, etc.

Today, a growing number of high school students decide on pursuing a career in IT. And this is for a reason. Jobs in IT are not only extremely interesting and highly pad but also provide great opportunities for young people. Due to the establishment of the Hi-Tech Park, Belarus' IT industry has become one of the leaders among Eastern European and CIS countries.

About 3,000 new professionals are hired by HTP companies every year, with a third of them being graduates of Belarusian technical universities.

A special guide for school students planning to get an IT profession was updated for the event. The guide features a list of the major IT faculties of Belarusian universities, including information about admission scores for the last three years.

Participants of the meeting had an opportunity to ask their questions to HTP Director Valery Tsepkalo, First Deputy Minister of Education Vadim Bogush and deans of IT faculties of the Belarusian State University, the Belarusian National Technical University, the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics and the Belarusian State Technological University. Director at Artox Lab Alexander Lind and Director at Belka Games Marina Korsun gave practical advice on how to become an outstanding IT professional and disclosed what is to be considered when studying at university.
