6 June 2017

On May 24, Director of Belarus Hi-Tech Park Vsevolod Yanchevsky and Head of EMEA at Uber Pierre-Dimitri Gore-Coty have signed a cooperation agreement.

The scope of the agreement includes opening of Uber's R&D center in the Hi-Tech Park and joint activities in the field of autonomous vehicles.

Uber top managers also met with Prime Minster of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov. They discussed first results of the company's operation in Belarus, as well as possibilities for facilitating passenger transportation using the Uber app and other similar platforms.

Pierre-Dimitri Gore-Coty noted: "We are happy with the negotiations with Prime Minister of the Republic ofBelarusMr. Kobyakov and Director of the Hi-Tech Park Mr. Yanchevsky. We know that Belarus President Mr. Lukashenko is paying close attention to the development of high technology which is a good sign for us and other international companies. Today, Uber and the Hi-Tech Park have signedan agreementoncooperation in a number of domains. This is my first visit to Belarus but now, I believe, I will have many occasions to come here often."

"Those who say that the world is on the verge of a transportation revolution are not quite right. Actually, the world has already crossed the verge. Everything is changing faster than many have anticipated, and Belarus should be in the forefront of these changes. This is the essence of our cooperation with both Uber and other global corporations, their technologies changing the world right before our eyes. This kind of cooperation gives Belarus a chance to become one of the first countries to launch self-driving cars," said Vsevolod Yanchevsky.
