Seminar in the India-Belarus Digital Learning Center

27 November 2017

On November 24 2017, the India-Belarus Digital Learning Center in ICThosted a free seminar for university teachers and students addressing Product Management: trends, approaches, and tools.

The seminar was conducted by Irina Teteruk, Process Project Management Consultant/ Agile PM at Ciklum (the HTP resident-company Vairon IT). She focused on tasks and challenges product managers and product owners face when developing a new product. She also spoke about the product lifecycle, the role and responsibilities of the product manager, and the use of the lean startup cycle for product development ideas generation and testing.

To apply the knowledge they have learned, the participants split up into teams and tried to think of potential products and test the ideas using such tools as Empathy Map, Sailboat SWOT, and Lean Canvas. The teams turned requirements into user stories, defined Minimum Viable Product (MVP), made estimates with story points, and created a preliminary product development schedule. At the end of the seminar, they did aretrospective using coaching cards.

Natalia Iskra, senior lecturer of the Electronic Computing Machines academic department at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics: "I like the training immensely! The information we've learned is topical and useful, and it was presented perfectly. The thing I like the most is that the training was practice-oriented (tasks, activities, games). Besides basic knowledge of English, the participants should have had an understanding of Scrum."

We thank Irina Teteruk and all the participants.

We invite university students and teachers to participate in new seminars (follow the news).
