Opening ceremony for the digital IT-Academy NOTA took place on September 4th 2010 within the official celebrations of the Novopolotsk City Day.

Many honorable guests have paid a visit to this significant for the city event: Chairman of the Executive Committee Natalia Kochanova, Head of the UN Office in Belarus Antonius Broek, Ambassador of India Ramesh Chander, deputy director of the High-Tech Park, Alexander Martinkevich... As you would expect in such cases, the guests were met with bread and salt, and a national Belarusian song.

"NOTA" (Engl. "note") - this is the name for the new training center, standing for (Research and Education Creative Academy).

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step", - these words by the host of the opening ceremony can be interpreted uniquely: the potential of Novopolotsk is not yet fully discovered. That was confirmed by Alexander Martinkevich, who said: "Novopolotsk is a young city. Every year hundreds of kids graduate schools here and it is extremely important to help them make their choice of the future occupation. The main objective of our project is to enhance the prestige of technical education among youth and to encourage school leavers to obtain further education in the field of information technology".

The honor of cutting the red ribbon was given to Natalia Kochanova and Alexander Martinkevich. The digital center IT-Academy NOTA was opened to the applause of those present. After the inspection of the facilities, obtained due to the sponsorship by HTP resident-companies (System Technologies, EPAM Systems, Science Soft, Samsolutions, Itransition, Marko and Softeq Development), the guests enjoyed demonstration of the practical purpose of NOTA.

The Novopolotsk IT-Academy offers an opportunity of post-graduate study for adults and teaches the basics of programming for schoolchildren of 3-11 grades. Apart from that here you can learn to use advanced technologies for educational and business purposes. It is also planned to open optional courses in IT and astronomy center. As Alexander Martinkevich assured, parents' relations work will be launched here shortly as well as distance learning.
