10 August 2010

On August 10, 2010 President Alexander Lukashenko met with Valery Tsepkalo, Director of the Administration of Belarus Hi-Tech Park, to receive his report.

The President was informed on the results of the HTP activities in the first six months of 2010. The software production volumes increased 140% in comparison with the same period of 2009.

As it was noted by Mr. Tsepkalo, currently training of IT-specialists is the main objective of HTP, both in the higher education institutions of the republic and within the framework of the newly-created educational structures. The educational structures in question include, first of all, the India-Belarus Digital Learning Centre in the area of Information and Communication Technology based in Belarus Hi-Tech Park in Minsk, which is to be inaugurated in October 2010, and also a range of other companies which will be engaged in training of IT-specialists for HTP.

Mr. Tsepkalo also briefed the President on the progress of HTP construction process, which were recently joined by the HTP resident-companies with their own funds. As it was noted by the Director of Administration of Belarus Hi-Tech Park, for the moment the development of the HTP residents had made it possible to accumulate financial resources enough to independently invest them in the development of the scientific and production and educational buildings. The construction of Belarus Hi-Tech Park is to be accomplished by 2014.
