HTP Educational Center Graduates Demonstrated Great Results

15 May 2013

On May 5, 2013 graduates of the Hi-Tech Park Educational Center presented their final projects to resident-companies.

The unique character of the event lay in the nature of teaching would-be IT specialists. For the first time the Educational Center switched from conventional teaching methods to implementation of project activities. Listeners of the courses (Java Developer, Front-End Developer, Software Testing Engineer and Business Analyst) enjoyed the opportunity to develop a real software product as members of project groups supervised by experienced coaches. Most successful students of the courses were invited to participate in a practical part. Divided into three teams of 7-8 people, during two and a half months they were working on a module for a real program − HRMS-INFO – Human Resources Management System.

The final projects were assessed by representatives of the HTP resident-companies who actually are potential employers for the graduates. The judges were given profiles on every participant: CV, key skills assessment, coach and scrum-master recommendations, detailed overview on the work done. Given experts’ impressions of the event, in the near future the courses graduates should probably expect invitations to the interviews and interesting career offers.

Olga Sidorenko, the ComplexWeb testing department coordinator, commented: “Great job! I would invite all the testers present here to the interview right now.”

“How did you manage to motivate the listeners to such a great extent? The results are amazing”, - said the Head of HR Department of Itransition Yuri Annushkin.

Dmitry Lappo, who represented Sberbank-Tecfhnologies, was also impressed by the level of preparation. According to him, “all the guys are ready to work and it doesn’t matter that they are juniors!”

EPAM Systems representative were satisfied with the results of the HTP Educational Center graduates as well. Jaroslav Tomilchik suggested that “it’s necessary to discuss possible ways of cooperation and job placement of specialists”.
