Research Projects of Belarusian Students May Find Practical Application in Real Life

High school students from 23 districts of the Minsk region, as well as from Lithuania presented 220 unique scientific researches during the regional research project competition. The event took place on October 26-27, 2013 in the Minsk Regional Institute for Education Development.



There were 13 sections: "Physics and Astronomy", "Mathematics", "Computer Science", "Russian Language and Literature", "Belarusian language and literature", "English. Philology. Country Studies", "German, French and Spanish. Philology. Country Studies", "Chemistry", "Biology", "Geography", "Ecology. Energy Saving in the Educational Space", "Labor Training" and "History".



The projects of young researchers were evaluated by a jury of competent teachers from the leading Belarusian universities – the Belarusian State University, the Minsk State Linguistic University, the International Sakharov Environmental University, the Institute of Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank, the Lyceum of Belarusian State University, the Goethe-Institut in Minsk – and professionals from the National Institute of Education, the National Institute for Higher Education, the National Institute of Vocational Education, the Minsk Regional Institute for Education Development. According to the jury, a lot of the presented projects may find practical application in medicine, agriculture, industry, tourism and other fields.



Within the framework of the competition, a festival of higher, vocational and secondary specialized education institutions was held for the first time. Students from the Minsk region could take a closer look at the Faculty of Radio Physics and Computer Technologies, the Faculties of Physics, Chemistry, Mechanics and Mathematics, and the Psychological Service of the Belarusian State University, the Nesvizh State Yakub Kolas College and the Minsk State College of Food Industry.
