Aiming at promoting scientific research activities among high school students and developing their creativity and interest in the study of mathematics, physics, and computer science, among others, the Hi-Tech Park initiated and sponsored the Belarus Science and Engineering Fair (BelISEF).

BelISEF is the national science and engineering competition for students (grades 9-12) which is held annually in the form of an open exhibition of scientific projects.

This year, Belarusian students will compete in the following categories:
  • Biological Sciences
  • Environmental Sciences
  • Chemistry
  • Computer Science
  • Mathematical Sciences
  • Physics
  • Engineering: Electrical and Mechanical

Winners of the national contest represent Belarus in the Intel® International Science and Engineering Fair® (Intel ISEF), the world’s largest international pre-college science competition. The Intel ISEF 2014 will be held May 11-16, 2014 in Los Angeles, USA.

For reference:
In 2013, 90 students from 57 schools from all regions of Belarus participated in the qualifying round of the national competition 56 individual and 15 team projects were presented during the fair. School students from Minsk and Soligorsk received three special awards in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair 2013 in the United States.
