Belarusian-Korean Business Forum Held in Minsk

On September 24, a Korean delegation headed by Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning of the Republic of Korea Choi Yanghee visited Minsk.

During the visit, the Korean delegation held high-level meetings with representatives of the Belarusian government and the Administration of President of the Republic of Belarus, participated in the opening ceremonies of the Belarus-Korea Information Access Center and a SK Hynix’s Minsk office –Softeq Flash Solutions, conducted the Belarusian-Korean business forum and signed a number of bilateral agreements on cooperation in the field of ICT.

The idea that going alone, you will come faster, going together – farther was repeated several times during the forum, becoming a sort of motto. The Korean companies Korea Telecom, CJ Systems, KT NET, LS Networks and Core Engineering presented their Smart City project and an overview of the digital broadcasting market, mobile payment technology and RFID technology (e-passport) in the framework of cooperation with Belarus and spoke about the introduction of Single Window digital system in Korea. The National Information Society Agency (NIA), the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) presented their activities and Korean international cooperation programs.

Head of the Marketing and Development Department of the HTP administration Yury Derevyanko spoke about the activities and achievements of the Belarus Hi-Tech Park. Representatives of Beltelecom and the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of President of the Republic of Belarus also provided detailed presentations.

The HTP resident-companies actively participated in the business forum. PrognozBel, Gersis Software, IBA IT Park, Itransition, Intetics, IntexSoft, SaM Solutions, R-Style Lab, IG Soft Bel and SoftClub presented their software development capabilities and communicated with prospective partners in an informal setting.

It is noteworthy that the visit of Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning of Korea Choi Yanghee became the first visit of a member of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Korea to Belarus.
