On February 21, the Belarus Science & Engineering Fair 2015 was held at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics in Minsk. It was a true school science celebration!

The finalists tried and showcased their talents to doctoral level scientists who reviewed and judged their work.

After the judging session, the finalists presented their projects to the general public.

There were projects on security and cryptography, scrap aluminium recycling and alternative fuels, speech recognition software, educational applications, a new type of the wing for drones, a quadrocopter, and many other interesting and amazing researches.

The leading Belarusian universities – Belarusian State University, Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, and Belarusian National Technical University – opened their doors to the general public, too. School students in grades 8 to 11 had the oppotrunity to visit faculties, laboratories and museums, listen to interesting lectures, communicate with professors, university techers and students and ask questions.

The youngest school students took part in the Ximikids science show and saw exciting and safe chemistry and physics experiments.

To close the science celebration, Alexander Olenyev, Intel ISEF coordinator for the CIS countries, told the BelSEF 2015 finalists about the history of CPU, Moore’s law and technology trends – wearables and Internet of Things, among others. He also presented the most promising projects of the Make it Wearable winners and discussed with the students benefits and risks of technology development and information security issues.

About five hundred visitors participated in the school science celebration.

Thanks to the participants, judges, visitors, sponsors, and volunteers! We could not have done it without you.
