SoftClub – Development Center Developed Electronic Identity Card for BSU Employees

9 June 2015

SoftClub – Development Center initiated and actively participated in the development of a smart electronic identity card for personnel of the Belarusian State University. The innovative project is unique in Belarus.

A smart ID of the BSU employee is a plastic identity card based on a contact microchip with payment and digital signature applications.

The ID card also has a contactless chip for radio frequency identification (RFID tag). The new ID of the BSU employee can be used as a salary debit card; digital signatures are valid for the university information system.

On June 4, BSU Rector Sergey Ablameyko, Chairman of the Board at Belinvestbank Gennady Sysoev, Deputy General Director for Science and Innovation at SoftClub Vladimir Anishchenko, Director of Infocard Tatyana Yasyukevich and Director of RTC Contact Anatoliy Teplyakov signed an agreement to produce the first smart IDs for BSU employees.

The prototype of the ID card was awarded a diploma at the International Specialized Forum on Telecommunications, Information and Bank Technologies TIBO-2014.

The first 100 employees of the Belarusian State University will receive their IDs in June. The BSU plans to start using electronic documents in the new academic year to reduce the time needed for approving documents.

For reference:

The electronic ID for the largest university in Belarus – the Belarusian State University – is an example of a successful public-private partnership in the field of information technology.

The project was implemented with the participation of the Belarusian State University, Belinvestbank, SoftClub Group and other Belarusian private companies.
