A special guide for students planning to get an IT profession was presented in the Hi-Tech Park.

• How to choose the "right" university?
• What to expect after graduation?
• Is it possible to obtain high-quality IT education in regional universities?

Answers to these and other questions, interviews with those who have already succeeded in IT, and information on how to get a job in an IT company are to be found in the guide.

The guide also features a catalog of the major IT faculties of Belarusian universities. Besides general information about the faculties, there is a list of admission scores for the recent years.

Traditionally, the main providers of employees for the HTP are the four faculties: Faculty of Computer Systems and Networks (Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, BSUIR), Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science (Belarusian State University, BSU), Faculty of Information Technologies and Control (BSUIR), and Faculty of Information Technologies and Robotics (Belarusian National Technical University, BNTU). Graduates of these faculties account for 50% of all young specialists employed by HTP companies annually.

The leading regional universities are Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Brest State Technical University and Polotsk State University.

The guide also has a list of the faculties which are to be the most popular among HTP companies in the next 2-3 years.

First of all, graduates of the following programs will be in demand:

At the same time, universities develop new IT programs. Leonid Shylin, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Control at BSUIR, noted: "This year, we have launched a new course – Information Systems and Technologies in Gaming Industry to train game designers."

Andrei Yarantsau, Deputy Director at Game Stream: "There is no other such difficult and popular profession as game designer in the gaming industry. Game designers are like film directors in many ways – they must be able to convey their vision of the game to a team of programmers, artists, testers and marketers."

Alexander Martinkevich, HTP Deputy Director, stressed that all students of all faculties are in demand and will be employed after their graduation in 4 years. Some students will get a job even earlier.

In 2014, HTP resident-companies employed 1,076 graduates of Belarusian universities which is 18% more than in 2013.

Dmitriy Shiman, Dean of the Information Technology Faculty at Belarusian State Technological University: "15 of 20 graduates of our faculty are now working for the Hi-Tech Park – in EPAM, Itransition and other companies. The number of vacancies exceeded that of the graduates."

Sergei Maly, Dean of the Faculty of Radiophysics and Computer Technologies at BSU: "Three 2015 graduates are now directors of their own companies, and one of them even employed several other graduates."

Alexey Leschov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Control at BSUIR: "Employers are competing for graduates of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Control for several years, it means that we get several job offers for one graduate. Most of them are personal job offers as students start working during their third or fourth years of study."

Evgeny Trofimenko, Dean of the Information Technologies and Robotics Faculty at BNTU: "As for employment, it has never been a problem for our faculty. All students are sure to get their first job."
