HTP – BSUIR: I Came! I Asked! I Entered!

24 July 2015

On July 22, the Hi-Tech Park welcomed future university students and their parents. Teachers and students from the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR) and HTP experts spoke about the most popular IT professions, shared their experience as BSUIR students and answered guests' questions.

Today, a good programmer should be able not just to code but also to understand the essence of the processes described in algorithms. Innovation and development of software products are the trends of the IT industry.

Andrei Sheleg, Deputy Director at the HTP resident-company Octonion Technology: "Our company has difficulties in finding multi-discipline experts. We are not interested in Android or Java developers. In an innovative product company, one should have extensive knowledge. I can see that people who are good at coding have troubles when talking about algorithms. Many do not have knowledge in physics, while we need experts in application development."

What educational courses of the Faculty of Computer Systems and Networks to choose to study hardware or programming? How many HTP companies cooperate with BSUIR?When do students start working?BSUIR students managed to answer a lot of questions during the two-hour meeting.

In June, 2015, a special guide for students planning to get an IT profession was presented in the Hi-Tech Park. Answers to the most pressing questions, interviews with those who have already succeeded in IT, and information on how to get a job in an IT company are to be found in the guide.

The guide features a catalog of the major IT faculties of Belarusian universities. Besides general information about the faculties, there is a list of admission scores for the recent years.
