AI for agriculture from the HTP resident

The residents of Hi-Tech Park continue to work on new products that will be useful in various fields of the economy. For example, the ELITESOFT development team recently introduced a new module for its FAUST VIEW technology platform – now this AI-based solution can be applied in veterinary medicine and agriculture.

The "Hardware and software module for early detection of cattle mastopathy" is part of the VETLAB AI system. The solution is aimed at detecting cattle mastitis by tracking pathological changes in the udder before milking.

The Mastopathy AI module analyzes images of cow udder obtained through 360° scanning installed at the entrance of the milking unit. After that, the data is transmitted to the server, where the neural network instantly evaluates the cow's health status. The data is displayed in real time, accompanied by signals on the stall and notifications via the Telegram bot.

This module is a logical extension of the FAUST VIEW platform, designed for the digitalization of agriculture and veterinary medicine. Now technology helps not only people, but also animals. The integration of AI into animal husbandry makes it possible to reduce milk losses and the cost of livestock treating, prevent mass infection and culling, increase the productivity of agricultural enterprises and optimize the work of staff.

How does the VETLAB AI Mastopathy module work? The process includes several key steps:

scanning the udder with six high-resolution cameras before milking;
transfer of images to the server for analysis by the neural network of the FAUST VIEW complex;
diagnosis of pathologies in real time;
notification of identified problems through indicator lights and mobile application;
creation of analytics and a database to track the dynamics and effectiveness of treatment.

Interestingly, the system functions even at low Internet speed, allowing to send images via any available device and receive information in a convenient format: Telegram bot, Viber, SMS and other.

At the moment, the module is at the pilot implementation stage, and its first results already demonstrate a high potential in reducing losses and increasing profitability.
