AI in medicine: how HTP resident improves breast cancer diagnosis

14 October 2024

In October, the world is united in the fight against breast cancer, which has become the most commonly diagnosed cancer in 2020, according to the GLOBOCAN global cancer database. One in four women suffering from malignant diseases will face this disease.

The World Health Organization (WHO) emphasizes the need to strengthen the foundations of health systems to improve the prognosis of the disease. An important aspect here is early diagnosis, which can significantly improve the chances of successful treatment. It is for this purpose that Elitesoft, a resident of Hi-Tech Park, has developed an innovative product for women – artificial intelligence for detecting breast pathologies, FAUST VIEW.

The program has already demonstrated high efficiency at the first stage of testing in health care institutions of Gomel region. With the help of FAUST VIEW, specialists were able to detect pathologies that were often undetected on conventional scans. More than 2000 studies have shown that the use of this program reduces the time of image analysis by one third and increases the detection of cancer at early stages up to 10%. AI algorithms are able to detect even signs that are not visible to the radiologist, which makes it possible to recommend additional examinations in time.

“FAUST VIEW” analyzes mammography images and identifies problem areas, allowing doctors to focus on important areas to determine treatment strategies. This tool does not replace the physician, but rather helps increase the efficiency of examinations and speeds up diagnosis.

In the future, Elitesoft plans to continue testing and improving FAUST VIEW, adapting its functionality to ensure the most accurate and reliable diagnosis of breast pathologies.
