Hi-Tech Park and the Ministry of Education raise a new generation of tech leaders
The seminar "Formation of a national startup ecosystem" was held at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics.
The event was attended by the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrey Ivanets, the Director of Hi-Tech Park Anna Ryabova, rectors and representatives of Belarusian universities.
Opening the seminar, the Director of Hi-Tech Park noted the Park's close cooperation with Belarusian universities and the education system as a whole and confirmed its willingness to contribute to the ongoing evolution of the education system of the Republic of Belarus. "We are ready for further development, focusing on the systematic training of those people who in the future may form new teams, new unicorns," Anna Ryabova emphasized.
During the seminar, Andrey Ivanets and Anna Ryabova signed a Roadmap for cooperation between the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and the Secretariat of the Supervisory Board of Hi-Tech Park for the development of national technological competencies.
Commenting on the document, Anna Ryabova noted that "the roadmap is only the first stage of a new system for the development of national high-tech entrepreneurship. It is designed to support both educational institutions that nurture our talents and the startup system, which will further assemble them into teams, train them and help them get off to the right start in order to develop the economy of Belarus and enter foreign markets."
The document defines concrete steps to integrate AI technologies into curricula, adapt educational and methodological complexes and improve the professional competence of teachers and lecturers. The roadmap provides for opportunities for additional education of children and youth in technical and technological specialties, holding republican contests and Olympiads among pupils and students on topics related to advanced technologies, as well as events within the framework of partnership with Belarusian IT-companies.
An important part of the document is specific actions for the development of a startup ecosystem involving Belarusian universities under the overall coordination of Hi-Tech Park.
During the seminar, Dmitry Mikulko, head of the HTP Startup Center, informed the participants about the work already done by Hi-Tech Park to form a national startup ecosystem in the Republic of Belarus, as well as about concrete steps for its further development.
