Hi-Tech Park delegation takes part in the Eurasian Group plenary week in China
The representatives of Hi-Tech Park as part of the Belarusian delegation participated in the events of the 39th plenary week of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (EAG) in China.
The international event included working group meetings and a plenary session attended by the representatives of all EAG member states, the Secretariat of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), as well as the EAG observers and the invited delegations from Armenia, Azerbaijan, China, Iran, Japan, Luxembourg, the UAE, the USA, the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the CIS Member States (CIS CHFIU), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), The New Development Bank (NDB), the World Bank, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office (UNOCT).
During the Workshop on Fintech and Combating money laundering and terrorist financing (Fintech and AML/CFT Workshop) the Belarusian delegation presented the national experience in legal regulation of the use of virtual assets.
Participation in the plenary week is of practical importance in the context of the forthcoming risk assessment of the Belarusian virtual assets sector, which is planned to be conducted next year, as well as the national AML/CFT systems’ improvement in terms of legislation compliance with the FATF recommendations and national competent authorities’ expertise enhancement.
