Software Engineering Forum for Students SEF.BY2Student-2015

Over 850 students attended "SEF.BY2Students-2015" held on December 5. The software engineering forum for students featured useful workshops and presentations, contests with prizes, friendly atmosphere and new ideas.

Director General of the Scientific and Technological Association Infopark Vladimir Basko welcomed the participants and noted that knowledge and skills in information technology are to help young people to succeed in any sphere.

Alexander Yurut, DEV.BY spoke about job trends in the IT industry: "the number of girls in IT is growing annually, and the gender impbalance is getting minimized."

Experts from COMAQA.BY and IBAGroup talked about alternative ways of studying programming and advised on how to get practical experience in IT. Eduard Babariko, founder of Ulej.by, showed what a crowdfunding platform may be like in Belarus. Professionals from Game Stream, Atlantconsult and Atlant Telecom as well as leaders of .NETUserGroup, MinskUnityUserGroup and Analyst.by also shared their knowledge and experience.

Besides prizes from companies, participants compete for special prizes (certificates and a ticket to the Startup of the Year 2015 award ceremony). Denis Pastushik, a BSUIR student, won the main prize – Amazon Kindle.

The forum was organized by the Scientific and Technological Association Infopark and the Hi-Tech Park with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.
