India-Belarus Digital Learning Center in ICT to Be Opened in HTP

Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of India and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on establishing India-Belarus Digital Learning Center in ICT (DLCICT) was signed during the visit of the External Affairs Minister of the Republic of India Mr. S.M. Krishna to Minsk on September 17, 2009.

According to the project the Government of India will allocate a grant for establishing DLCICT on the basis of HTP Belarus. The grant funds will be used for purchasing hardware, inviting Indian experts, upgrading the qualification of Belarus specialists (future instructors of the Center) by teaching them at the Indian National Central Learning Center of Computer Technologies.

Among the goals of the joint India-Belarus Learning Center are:
* upgrading the qualifications of Belarus IT-specialists;
* upgrading the qualifications of instructors of profile technical universities;
* training IT managers for traditional economy enterprises;
* improving "e-literacy" of governmental employees.

According to the project plan the Center will be equipped with modern hardware, including the equipment for delivering internet-lectures, video- conferences and distant learning of one main (in HTP) and 4 remote classrooms in the universities of Minsk, Grodno and Gomel.
