Facebook Shows Interest in Belarusian IT Industry

On March 15, top managers of Facebook, including Engineering Director Maher Saba, visited the Hi-Tech Park.

Facebook experts' visiting the Hi-Tech Park has become a tradition. Last year, the Hi-Tech Park and Facebook conducted the two-day Facebook Marketing Summit which was attended by over four hundred people.

This time, the Facebook experts have learnt about recent achievements of the Hi-Tech Park. The guests were impressed by the level of ICT development in Belarus and noted that they know a number of successful Belarus-based IT companies and monitor their activities.

The Facebook experts and HTP Director Valery Tsepkalo shared ideas on current and future trends in the ICT industry and discussed the contribution of Belarusian software engineers to the development of information technology.

The guests also visited the HTP business incubator to learn its infrastructure and experience in supporting startup companies. During the visit, founders of the world-famous app MSQRD Eugene Nevgen and Sergey Gonchar left a message to startups on the wall of fame.

The guests from Facebook also visited the new office of the HTP resident EPAM. The experts admitted that the company's Minsk office looks like those in the Silicon Valley, though offers more workspace to programmers.
