Three Belarusian Projects to Compete for $50,000 at Microsoft Imagine Cup 2016

On April 19, the HTP business incubator hosted the national final of Microsoft Imagine Cup 2016, the world's premier student technology competition, to select the best projects introduced by Belarusian postgrads, school and university students. Three projects out of 20 were named the winners.

The competition was held in three categories: "Games", "Social Projects" and "Innovation". Microsoft's Country Manager in Belarus Anton Myakishev, Deputy Head of HTP business incubator Yury Vaitukevich and IT Assistant at BEL.BIZ Anastasiya Khomenkova acted as the judges.

The experts selected three teams to participate in the regional semifinals of Imagine Cup 2016. Winners of the latter will compete for the grand prize of $50,000 in the United States in summer.

The winners of the national final are as follows: RainForce Team with the game project Age of Adventures; Artsiom Liavitski and Artur Gapantsov with the service to sell artworks of Belarusian artists Artcenter.by; and Alta team with a chatterbot project for the messenger Telegram to perform functions of a personal financial assistant. The winners received prizes and certificates that serve as a pass to the regional semifinals.
