Arkadiy Dobkin, EPAM Chairman and CEO has become winner of the Man-of-Business 2009 Competition within the nomination “Active Attraction and Effective Use of Foreign Investments”.

For the last few years EPAM has continuously attracted venture investments for the retention of growth rates of the Company and its competitiveness on the world market. The attracted investments made it possible to timely improve the Company’s technical and social infrastructure and also to expand both the Company’s geographical presence in key market regions and the Company’s service portfolio.

The significant amount of investments was attracted exactly to Belarus where since 1994 the number of employees of the Company has increased up to 2000 persons. Production offices were established not only in Minsk but also in all regional cities, a number of training centers for training personnel in cooperation with the leading national universities were built. And in 2009 the first administrative building of Belarus Hi-Tech Park was put into operation. Due to the effectiveness of the applied efforts on behalf of the Company’s management for the last three years EPAM Systems became winner of the competition “The Best Entrepreneur of the Year” in the nomination “Job Creation”. And based on the results of 2008 the Company was named “The Best Belarusian Exporter of the Year in the Field of Science, Education and Information Technologies”.

The organizer of the Man-of-Business 2009 Competition is the editorial board of the magazine “Business (East + West)” headed by Piotr Nikitenko, Director of the Economy Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The competition has already been held for 14 consecutive years. Annually 12 best directors and owners of businesses who operate on the Belarusian market are awarded. This year 87 candidates were nominated for the competition by ministries, concerns, business alliances and local governmental authorities.

The awarding and announcement of results of the competition took place on the 7th of July, 2009 during a specially organized official ceremony.
