Belarus and HTP Companies Shortlisted for 2016 EOA Awards

The European Outsourcing Association (EOA) announced the names of the 2016 EOA Awards shortlist. The EOA Awards recognize the significant achievements of companies which have demonstrated innovation, excellence, and best-practice in pan-European outsourcing.

Belarus was shortlisted in the Outsourcing Destination of the Year category, while the HTP resident-companies EPAM and IBA were included into the European IT Outsourcing Project of the Year and the Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) shortlists correspondingly.

Belarus was named among the leading outsourcing countries as the Belarus' IT industry contributes significantly to the national economy and serves as a foundation for developing information society and knowledge economy in the country. Belarus hosts largest IT outsourcing companies in Eastern Europe.

IBA was chosen as a finalist for CSR due to the project Promotion of IT in Belarus among People with Disabilities. 120 disabled people were trained within the project, with 89 of them completing the course remotely. Following the course, IBA organized a national contest in system administration for people with disabilities. 45 course graduates participated in the contest, and 10 of them qualified for the final. Now former students share their knowledge and skills in system administration with others; 6 graduates, including the winner of the contest, got job offers.

The award winners will be announced in Sofia on October 6.
