NASA’s International Space Apps Challenge 2017 Held in HTP

On April 28-30, HTP hosted NASA’s International Space Apps Challenge 2017,an international hackathon that occurred over 48 hours in 69 countries around the world tofind innovative solutions to the global challenges using NASA's open API. This year, there were two locations in Belarus–HTP business incubator (Minsk) and HTP coworking (Grodno).

Space Apps Challenge 2017 focused on real-life problems on our home planet,Earth. Teams around the globe tried to solve challenges in 5 categories:The Earth and Us; Planetary Blues; Warning! Danger Ahead!; Our Ecological Neighborhood; Ideate and Create!

Dozens of space projects were created in the H-Tech Park by people of different professions, from software engineers and designers to astronomers and biologists.

GeoGene and Solar Experts were named global nominees in Minsk, while Itibo SolarCity and AirCot became global nominees in Grodno. Lost in the ozone and Itibo SolarCity won Local People's Choice Awards in Minsk and Grodno correspondingly.

Global awards will be announced two to three weeks after the event, with the global judging process being managed by experts from NASA.
People's Choice voting is live until May 22.
