Time to SCRATCH!

The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and the Hi-Tech Park invite pupils to take part in the in the Programming in Scratch Contest!!

This year the Contest will be held for the third time. According to the feedback from participants, Programming in Scratch is the most interesting, creative and the most important contest of the year for the whole Belarusian Scratch community.

All the participants who get to the final of the Contest become the distinguished participants of the Belarusian scratchers community and are titled as Middle Scratchers

Traditionally, the participants of the Contest compete not only for the scratchers honours and diplomas of the I, II, III degree, but for valuable prices from the Hi-Tech Park as well.  This year the winners will be awarded with laptops, tablets, smart watches and smartphones.

The II-VIII grade pupils of Belarusian schools are welcomed to participate in the Contest in 2018.   Only individual works performed independently can be submitted.  One participant can submit only one project for the Contest.

The Contest is held in three nominations:

Nomination “A Thing From the Future”

Only individual projects of schoolchildren from II-III forms can participate.

In this nomination a participant submits a creative project, carried out in Scratch programming environment. It must be a voiced animation representing a child’s idea about inventions, which will soon become a part of our everyday life and tomorrow will change the world that we are all used to (an unmanned car, a smart trash can, a cryptomat and so on).

Nomination “Animated Task”

Only individual projects of schoolchildren from IV forms can participate.

In this nomination a participant submits a creative project, carried out in Scratch programming environment. It must be a voiced animation solving a maths problem based on the story of a famous fairy-tale or animated film.

Nomination “Computer Game”

Only individual projects of schoolchildren from V-VIII forms  can participate.

The project for the Contest must be a computer game carried out in Scratch programming environment. It can be either an arcade, a puzzle or an educational game.

The works in the nomination “Computer Game” will be judged separately in two age groups: V-VI forms and VII-VIII forms.

To take part in the Contest, you have to fill in the participant registration form till 24:00, April 20, 2018 and send your work so that the finalists of the Contest are defined.

The list of the finalists will appear on April 26, 2018 on the web-sites of the Hi-Tech Park and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.

The final stage of the Contest will be held on May 5-6, 2018 in Orsha.
