18 June 2018

Today the international seminar "Crypto-currencies and blockchain - the phenomenon of the 21st century: regulatory challenges in the context of the macroeconomic stability of the EAEU" was held in the business-incubator of the HTP.

"Belarus is the first state within EEC which has already established a legislative framework in the field of crypto-currency. We would like to move towards a common understanding of the glossary and determine what we all mean by specific terms. We are very interested in a blockchain technology, because itis likely tobe used in various spheres of the economy. It is interesting what Belarus can offer other EEC countries in these areas. We need to look at the perspective and understand that the economy is changing. It is quite possible that the digital economy will be serviced by digital money", said the moderator of the event, Tatyana Valovaya, a member of the Board (Minister) for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

According to the international lawyer and developer of the Decree "On the digital economy development" Denis Aleinikov, the Eurasian Economic Commission used the Belarusian experience in drafting the glossary of terms of the blockchain economy.

"The draft EEC glossary is 80% based on the glossary of Decree No. 8," Denis Aleinikov said.

During the seminar a number of issues were addressed. Among them there was the formation of legislation in the field of cryptocurrencies regulation, blockchain startups and ICO, as well as the creation of harmonized rules of work in the Eurasian area for citizens, companies and the market as a whole.

The international seminar was organized by the High Technologies Park jointly with the Eurasian Economic Commission. Representatives of regulating state bodies - members of EEC, development institutions, business communities and professional associations took part in the event.
