Belarusian School Pupils Are the Winners of the 5th Open Computer Programming Olympiad

15 Belarusian school pupils have received diplomas of 1st, 2nd and 3rd degrees during the 5th Open Computer Programming Olympiad in Moscow. Gennady Korotkevich, a pupil of Gomel gymnasium No. 56 received the highest score (800). 

Extramural round of the Olympiad continued from October 20, 2010 till January 15, 2011. The contestants were to complete 12 tasks. The extramural round defined the pupils, who passed into the final intramural round (6-9 of March, 2011).

285 pupils from Russia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Tadzhikistan and Ukraine took part in the final round of the intellectual contest on the basis of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. 

Following the results of two five-hour rounds 117 participants received the Olympiad’s diplomas. Fifteen Belarusian kids became the winners of the Olympiad. Gennady Korotkevich scored the most (800).

According to the Olympiad rules the winners acquire the right to enter Innovation and High Technology Department of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology without passing entrance exams. 

The Olympiad’s organizers were Moscow Center for Continuous Mathematical Education, Moscow Institute of Open Education and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

The Olympiad was held under the auspices of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Moscow Department of Education, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Computer Supermarket ”NIKS“ and Yandex Company.
