2 March 2019

During the visit of the Head of Government Sergei Rumas to the HTP, prospects for the development of the high-tech industry and, in general, the strategy of digitization of the country were discussed. The sharp increase in the Hi-Tech Park export over the past two years has turned Belarus into one of the main IT clusters of Eastern Europe. In terms of growth in IT export, the HTP has become one of the leaders in the world and the region.

Vsevolod Yanchevsky, Director of the Hi-Tech Park, noted that today the key factor for the further successful development of IT is education. The Prime Minister was acquainted with a number of new ideas and initiatives of the HTP and the IT community for the development of domestic education. Denis Aleinikov, an international lawyer who developed the Presidential Decree «On the Development of the Digital Economy», delivered his presentation about the future of the IT country and the new challenges of the modern world.

At the same time, the Prime Minister discussed the possibility of the broad participation of HTP residents in the digitalization of the Belarusian economy both in the implementation of particular projects and in general the development of a common strategy for the digitalization of Belarus. Today, the HTP is a powerful center of competence in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, where laser and optical systems, medical and space devices are being created. Belarusian developments are successfully used all over the globe and the world's largest corporations are clients and customers of HTP residents.
