HTP Fosters Cooperation with Azerbaijan

25 April 2013

The second Belarus-Azerbaijan business forum in the sphere of information and communication technologies that took place in Minsk on April 24 contributed to a closer cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan.

The participants of the forum were Belarusian organizations and enterprises engaged in ICT, including the Hi-Tech Park resident-companies, namely PrognozBel, SOFTCLUB and ST Group Holding. Azerbaijan was represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies, Fund of ICT Development, Azerpochta, Aztelecom, Hi-Tech Park and software development companies (Sinam, Ultra, BestComp Group, Microsoft, etc.).

ST Group Holding representatives hold successful talks discussing its companies participation in the implementation of Microsoft and Oracle products in Azerbaijan. It’s worth mentioning, that cooperation of this HTP resident and Azerbaijan started as long ago as in 2010 at the first Belarus-Azerbaijan business forum when the agreement with Ultra to provide Azerbaijan with information technologies for banking was signed. Thanks to joint efforts during the past 3 years ST.BANK.IT software has been implemented in the leading Azerbaijan banks.

“We are glad that partnership agreement signed 3 years ago shows such significant results, - Alexander Mukovozchik, ST Group CEO, noted. – In 2010 we were one of the first Belarusian companies in Azerbaijan but nowadays this direction is gaining its importance”.

The HTP resident-company PrognozBel introduced its groundwork to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan and Azerpochta. At the forum the HTP residents also met with the leading integrator in Azerbaijan Sinam company to discuss the realization of joint projects in Azerbaijan and Eastern Europe.

What’s more, the forum provided the opportunity to foster cooperation of governmental bodies of Belarus and Azerbaijan in the sphere of ICT: a memorandum on cooperation in the sphere of regulation of connection between Belarusian State provider Beltelecom and production association Aztelecom. Also, there was an agreement signed on the establishment of the interacademic center of correspondent learning between The Higher State College of Communications (Belarus) and Azerbaijan Technical University.
