World of Tanks Sets New Records

22 January 2014

The MMO project World of Tanks developed by the HTP resident-company Game Stream conquers new heights with the perseverance and persistence of a tank. Over 1,114,000 users participated in online tank battles on the Russian cluster on January 19, 2014.

More than 1% of the Russian Federations population (from Kaliningrad to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk) were playing concurrently.

"The reason for the rapid success of World of Tanks is that we have managed not just to create a software product of the highest quality (far surpassing many of the worlds best examples), find the right balance between simplicity and complexity, perfectly optimize the form and the content, but to implement the idea in the most creative way, we have invested our inspiration, experience, and individuality and the result we have got pleasantly surprised even us," said Victor Novochadov, Game Stream Director.

For reference:

The record is not the first one in the nearly four-year history of the game. Since its release, World of Tanks has attracted over 75,000,000 virtual tankers worldwide. The "Most players online simultaneously on one MMO server" world record was twice registered by Guinness World Records. 190,541 gamers were playing concurrently on one of the five servers of the Russian cluster on January 21, 2013. The previous world record for simultaneous presence on one server also belonged to World of Tanks and amounted to 91,311 users.
