CEO and President of EPAM Systems Arkadiy Dobkin was Named Entrepreneur of the Year 2014

Arkadiy Dobkin, co-founder, CEO and President of EPAM Systems, was named the winner of the 2014 EY Entrepreneur of the Year award in Belarus and is to participate in the World Entrepreneur of the Year event.

"I took part in the program because Minsk and Belarus are my home. So it was interesting for me to compete for the national award in this country. We are very pleased to be able to help and lead by example,"said Arkadiy Dobkin.

In addition to the overall award winner, the judges also selected winners in four categories, three of them being CEOs of the HTP resident-companies. Arkadiy Dobkinwon in the International Business category; Vladimir Sirotko, CEO at SoftClub, became the winner in the Innovative Business category; and Nikolay Kurayev, CEO at ScienceSoft, was announced the winner in the Fast Growing Business category.

The Entrepreneur of the Year is organized by Ernst & Young (EY), a global leader in assurance, tax, transactions and advisory services. The 2014 award ceremony was held on November 19 in Minsk. The winner of the national award will represent Belarus at the World Entrepreneur of the Year in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Sergei Novitsky, CEO of Henkel Bautechnik and one of the judges at the Entrepreneur of the Year 2014, said: "Today, some of the entrepreneurs we assessed are growing to $1 billion in turnover. The candidates are exceptional and outstanding people, and it was really hard to assess them. All of them are sociable and interesting; it was pleasant to talk to them."

Pavel Laschenko, EY Managing Partner for Belarus, stressed the importance of business development in Belarus: "Like we build a house, entrepreneurs, being enthusiastic and full of bold ideas, consistently create support for sustainable economic development and raise the living standards for Belarusians."
