The First Training Center for Testing Opened in BSUIR

11 December 2014

The opening ceremony was held on December 10 at the Department of Human Engineering and Ergonomics of the Faculty of Computer-Aided Design, Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR). The Center for Testing and Quality Control is the first BSUIR-A1QA joint project.

The new center offers practical courses in manual, automated and usability testing for BSUIR students. Teachers are A1QA employees with many years of experience in IT. The joint training center will also host workshops, round table meetings, conferences and other educational activities.

"The explosive growth of the IT market has caused a significant imbalance in the demand and the supply of IT personnel. The current demand for IT professionals is three times the supply. Today, the demand for specialists in software testing and quality control is extremely high; universities however do not provide training in this field. Training courses in the BSUIR-A1QA training center will help graduates to become highly qualified IT specialists," said Mikhail Batura, BSUIR Rector, at the opening ceremony.

Svetlana Pravdina, CEO of A1QA, noted in turn: "The opening of the joint training center at the leading technical university in the country is not just the company’s contribution to the professional development of future employees, but also our investment in the growth of the potential of the Belarusian hi-tech industry. A1QA employees will keep supporting talented young people and sharing their professional experience." Svetlana Pravdina also pointed out that the cooperation with BSUIR enables to create an environment for students to receive both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, solve real problems, participate in the implementation of the most interesting IT projects.

30 BSUIR students have already been trained in the center and received international certificates. Hundreds of students (undergraduate to doctorate degrees) are to get training there annually. A special course will be prepared to improve university teachers’ knowledge and skills.
