SEF.BY2Student-2014: A Day in IT World

SEF.BY2Student-2014, a software engineering forum for students, was held on December 6 in the Minsk Tractor Works Palace of Culture. This year, it was organized for the fourth time and brought together over 650 students (mainly majoring in IT) from more than 30 universities, colleges and vocational schools. IT professionals told the students about the peculiarities of different IT professions, trends in the IT sphere and important things to pay attention to.

The forum was opened by Vladimir Basko, Director General of the Association Infopark, and Valery Tsepkalo, Director of the Hi-Tech Park Administration. Valery Tsepkalo noted that one must have a good idea and proper implementation to achieve the goal, and assured the students that there is enough space for everyone in the IT sphere.

The partners of the forum were the HTP resident-companies EPAM Systems, IBA Group, Game Stream, Itransition and A1QA; Velcom, Atlantconsult, UXpresso, Atlant Telecom, and professional associations .NET.UserGroup and Analyst.by. The companies prepared not only useful content but also an amazing entertainment program, creative contests and gifts for young specialists.

In between the presentations, students could communicate with the speakers and other representatives of the companies, visit their stands and participate in lotteries and contests. EPAM Systems presented gifts for the correct execution of the task and organized a lottery among those who filled out the questionnaire. IBA Group conducted a contest and awarded prizes to the winners. Visitors of the Game Stream’s stand could relax and learn about the opportunities in game development. At the closure of the forum, prizes from the organizers and the partners were drawn among students.
