SoftClub and BSU Opened a Unique Lab

On March 25, the Belarusian State University and the HTP resident-company SoftClub – Development Center opened a computer lab for training IT students within the Oracle Academy, a global program supporting computer science education. BSU students and teachers will be able to pass certification exams and obtain Oracle certificates.

The opening ceremony was attended by Sergey Ablameyko, BSU rector, Yury Lopatin, Director of SoftClub – Development Center, and Dmitry Filimonov, Deputy Director, Pavel Mandrik, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, BSU, Elena Filatova, Country Manager at Oracle, and Sergey Markov, Director of the BSU IT Competence Center.

The BSU is the only Oracle Academy member among Belarusian universities. It is planned to conduct free seminars and workshops developed by teachers from world`s leading universities and IT experts within the program. The laboratory has 11 work places and is fully equipped to provide the best learning environment for students.

Elena Filatova recognized the importance of cooperation between the BSU and Oracle as well as the functionality of the new computer lab which fully complies with the requirements of the Oracle Academy.

A long-term cooperation between the BSU and SoftClub group of companies has deep roots – their founders are graduates of the Belarusian State University. About 70% of SoftClub – Development Center`s employees studied in the BSU, therefore, the company pays special attention to such a significant project as opening of the computer lab in the Belarusian State University.
