Belarusian School Students Triumphed at Intel ISEF in the USA
The team of Belarusian students won five prestigious awards at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) 2015 which was held in Pittsburgh, the USA, on May 10-15.
Intel ISEF 2015 featured approximately 1,700 young scientists from more than 75 countries. Belarus was represented by Viktar Beliautsou, Uladzislau Hadalau, Dzmitry Kryvenchuk and Ivan Saetchnikov – winners of the Belarus Science and Engineering Fair 2015.
The project Increasing Wing Lift for Safer Landing created by Viktar Beliautsou, Mikita Syrovatnikau (both students of Minsk State Regional Lyceum) and Aleh Karabko (Gymnasia No.40) was awarded 4th Award in the Engineering Mechanics category. The project also received two special awards: Alcoa Foundation`s 2nd Award for Sustainable Design In Transportation and 3rd Award from the Society of Experimental Test Pilots, an international organization of flight test pilots and astronauts. It is noteworthy that Viktar won a gold medal at the XXII International Conference of Young Scientists (ICYS) held in Turkey in April, 2015.
Ivan Saetchnikov (BSU Lyceum) received 4th Award in Environmental Engineering for his project Environmental Monitoring Probe Based on Intel Edison Platform.
Uladzislau Hadalau (Slutsk School No.11) with his project Artemis Web Security: Smart Security System for Websites with Constant Control won the Mobile Application Award from the world`s largest domain name registrar GoDaddy. It is also to be mentioned that Uladzislau`s project was awarded a diploma at the XI Baltic Science and Engineering Competition in St.Petersburg and a prize of the business jury – internship and training in the research project Loyalty Plant.

The Belarus Science and Engineering Fair 2016 is to begin in December, 2015. The best projects will represent Belarus in at the Intel ISEF in the United States in May, 2016.

The Belarus Science and Engineering Fair is organized by the Hi-Tech Park, Minsk Region Institute for Education Development, Education Department of the Minsk Region Executive Committee and Intel. In 2015, the national contest was held for the third time. Over 240 research projects competed in 7 categories, with 82 projects being selected as finalists.
