7 December 2021
The Hi-Tech Park resident Vochi joined Pinterest, the large social network with photo hosting.
Today Pinterest is used by more than 500 million people per month. Over the past year the service has been actively developing the video direction. Pinterest supports authors for creating their own content or releases video itself.
The founders of the Belarusian startup Vochi note that their AI-based mobile video processing technology is unique. Thus cooperation with Vochi will help Pinterest to move the focus from images to videos.
The Vochi app is based on two convolutional neural networks for segmentation of the objects in video and photos. Vochi also developed a custom rendering engine for digital video effects that can be instantly applied in 4K on mobile devices. According to the Vochi team, it operates very quickly and has no loss in quality.
Ilya Lesun, the founder of the startup, notes that Vochi remains a separate product. “We will not disappear. Thanks to Pinterest, the team got a huge potential for development, and we will continue making the greatest video editor ever. From now on we stop monetization, the application is free, ” Ilya Lesun said.
Since it was founded in 2019 the HTP resident Vochi raised about $ 4 million investments. Among investors are Angelsdeck, A. Partners, TA Ventures, Kolos VC, Startup Wise Guys, Flyer One Ventures, as well as top managers of Verv and Bolt services.
Vochi LLC joined Hi-Tech Park in 2019. The company releases AI-based Vochi mobile application that recognizes objects in photos and videos and applies special effects to them. The application is used by up to 500 thousand people.
