Competitive advantage of Belarusian medical technologies is close cooperation with the health care system

Hi-Tech Park hosts seminar "Advanced Technologies in Diagnostics”. 

The event was attended by specialists from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, chief physicians and their deputies, management of the Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, directors of medical centers, health and recreational institutions, physicians, and representatives of the scientific and IT-community of the country.

Kirill Zalessky, Deputy Director of Hi-Tech Park gave the participants overview of the activities of the Park and its residents, elaborating on their IT- projects in healthcare: "It is obvious that the future of medicine is closely connected with the cooperation of doctors and programmers. Hi-Tech Park projects today offer substantial help to the doctors. Artificial intelligence is an important aid in diagnostics. It makes the final conclusion on certain diseases less time consuming and more accurate. Park has created all the conditions for the growth of multiple AI competencies. In the field of medtech, there are about 70 projects," noted Kirill Zalessky. 

As Deputy Director of Hi-Tech Park emphasized, "It is successful interaction with the Belarusian health care system organizations that is the key to the competitiveness of Belarusian medtech companies. We see the representatives both of conventional professions and the IT-industry working together, mutually complementing each other".

Victor Sidorenko, Head of the Software and Information Support Sector of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, also noted: "Hi-Tech Park serves as an excellent dialogue platform for communication between practicing physicians and representatives of IT-companies”.

During the event the Hi-Tech Park resident company KometaRad presented its software complex for processing, 3D reconstruction, transmission and storage of medical diagnostic images 3DMed. As noted by the company’s representatives the product was developed directly for Belarus in terms of the existing regional specificity (methodology, registers, etc.), is tolerant to the manufacturers of the pluggable equipment, has a wide functionality for visualization, exchange of the examination results between medical institutions, provides opportunities for scaling and deployment of the solution in the cloud system. In addition, it is fully compliant with the concept of e-health development.

CometaRad's solution aroused keen interest among the representatives of the healthcare industry. During the discussion, it was noted that the possibility of prompt access to high-quality diagnostic data is undoubtedly an essential factor in quick and competent diagnosis.
