On October 20, the Hi-Tech Park hosted a training seminar for university teachers highlighting the requirements development process. The seminar was conducted by Sergey Guk, project manager at the HTP resident-company Syberry CIS.

The participants were studying the peculiarities of requirements identification and analysis for IT projects – what are requirements identification and its role in software development, what are the functions of a business analyst and how to manage requirements during the project life cycle.

Teachers of IT departments from the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank, the Belarusian State Academy of Telecommunications, the Belarusian National Technical University, etc. participated in the dialogue.

Sergey Guk, project manager at Syberry: "The seminar has made a very positive impression. The participants asked many urgent questions after the presentation which means the topic is interesting and they have paid attention while listening. It is the best the speaker can expect. Clearly, one seminar is not enough for a full understanding of any topic. Still, such events are useful to those who are engaged in IT but do not know the basics of the subject.

Even a slight acquaintance with the subject enriches the knowledge of software development and helps to understand the IT industry. It is also an opportunity to discuss business analysis with a practitioner. Understanding of the whole process, especially such an essencial part as requirements identification is of use to software developers, too. Requirements are what a developer has to deal with after all so it is important for a developer to know how the requirements are determined.

As for cooperation, our company is always willing to work witj universities."

Seminars are held as a part of HTP / universities cooperation program in the India-Belarus Digital Learning Center in ICT. The program is aimed at overcoming the gap between requirements of the IT businesses and the education system, involving university teachers in modern business processes and improving the curricula. We invite university teachers to attend seminars in the India-Belarus Digital Learning Center in ICT in November.
