Seminars for University Teachers in Hi-Tech Park

The Hi-Tech Park organizes free workshops and seminars for university teachers to help them develop skills of applying information and communication technologies and approaches.

In December, two seminars were conducted – ERP System Advantages and Perspectives (SAP case study) andScrum and Kanban in Project Management.

The seminar addressing ERP Systems was organized by the HTP resident-company IBA IT PARK and held in the BSU-IBA IT Competence Center on December 12-14.

The seminar was conducted by Sergei Markov, Head of the Department of Multiprocessor Systems and Networks (the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science of the Belarusian State University - BSU), and Oksana Kravets, assistant at the Department of Multiprocessor Systems and Networks. During the seminar, employees of the leading Belarusian universities (BSU, BSUIR, BSEU, BNTU, GrSU) explored the capabilities of modern ERP systems and interaction of major integrated business processes by studying the example of SAP ECC in the following areas: finance, procurement, production, planning, enterprise asset management, HR management. The speakers also focused on the use of SAP reporting and analysis for efficient enterprise management. Besides, two new training courses of the SAP University Alliances on SAP/4 HANA and HANA Cloud Platform were discussed.

Business cases of major Belarusian companies such as Belarusian Railway, Gazprom Belarus, and Belorusneft were presented during the seminar by Marina Semitko (Belarusian Railway) and Dmitry Konevtsev (SAP Global Delivery Center).

On December 22, the HTP business incubator hosted the seminar on Scrum and Kanban basics for project management. The seminar was conducted by Irina Teteruk, Agile PM and Consultant at the HTP resident-company VAIRON IT.

During the seminar, the participants studied the evolution of project management approaches in software development. The speaker focused on Lean and Agile definitions, values ​​and principles of the Agile Manifesto, 8 typical wastes under Lean and their adjusted list for software development.

The participants studied Scrum: roles, ceremonies, artifacts and practice-based recommendations. The main way of describing requirements – User Stories – was also addressed during the seminar. A special attention was paid attention to Kanban and its key practices.
