The HTP showed unprecendented export growth

4 March 2019

The Hi-Tech Park 2018 export rose sharply by 38 percent compared to 2017 and amounted to $1,414 billion. According to the forecasts of the world-famous auditors, the HTP would have reached these indicators only in 2020. The main consumers of the HTP products are the EU countries and the USA (more than 90%).

«The HTP export growth has exceeded all our expectations. We also greatly exceeded the forecasts provided by the leading agencies. Surely this is a direct consequence and an obvious success of the Decree, which has been adopted by the Head of our state. This is not only the success of the Hi-Tech Park, but also the success of our entire country. Today Belarus is becoming one of the very powerful IT clusters of the entire Eastern European region. I wouldn't want to jinx anything, but now we clearly see that there is every reason to continue good, strong and rapid growth», said Vsevolod Yanchevsky, the Hi-Tech Park director.

The total production volume of the HTP amounted to 3202 billion Br. There’s an increase of 47% as compared to 2017. On the domestic market the HTP residents have developed and implemented IT solutions at an amount of 297 million Br. This is 59% more than in 2017. The average salary of an IT specialist in the past year was approximately 4487 Br. An average programmer pays 3.2 times more income tax than an average Belarusian. At the same time the contribution to the Social Protection Fund is the same.

After the President signed the Decree «On the Development of the Digital Economy», 267 companies entered the HTP - more in 2018 than in the entire 12-year history of the HTP. At the same time the efficiency of old companies, which last year created 5 thousand new jobs, has intensified. In general, together with the new companies, the HTP has grown by 13 thousand workers. As of the end of last year, 45.7 thousand people worked for the HTP residents.
