Belarusian Programmers among the Best on Planet

Two Belarusian students became finalists at a prestigious programming and design tournament TopCoder Open thus finding themselves among 24 best programmers on the planet. At the finals Belarus will be represented by Gannadij Korotkevich from Gomel and Alexei Ropan who studies Computer Science at Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, Department of Computer Systems and Networks.

After three qualification rounds 2 000 participants were chosen out of 5 000 to participate in the main part of the tournament. Then during next five online rounds 24 best programmers were selected to “cross swords” in the finals in Washington (USA)

The 2013 TopCoder Open (TCO) is an annual world-wide programming and designing tournament that started in 2001. The prize fund for 2013 is $300,000.
