Educators Should Use Web 2.0 to Their Advantage
According to the Hi-Tech Park Administration and managers of the experimental project on implementation of individual electronic devices at educational establishments, teachers should use modern technologies in class more actively.
To help educators to master modern information technologies and methods of teaching, the training Social Services Web 2.0 in Professional Activity of an Educator was organized in Belarus-India Digital Learning Center.
"It’s Web 2.0 services that have recently become number one in facilitating cooperation between pupils. They not only improve educational process but also help pupils to develop basic skills necessary for successful functioning in modern information society," Irina Vasiljeva, one of the coaches and a representative of the National Institute of Education noted.
The first training took place on January 14-16, gathering together educators from Minsk, Volkovysk, Orsha, Ross and KrasnoSelskij towns.
The training was aimed at introducing educational potential of Web 2.0. services. In the course of it participants were guided through the main stages of using the services, from registration to starting a blog.
Sharing their impression of the training teachers admit that now they are willing and able to use the knowledge they gained on a regular basis.
The training was hold with the support of Belarus Ministry of Education, the Hi-Tech Park Administration and Intel Corporation.
At the beginning of February 2013 there will be another training at Belarus-India Digital Learning Center.
Coaches for this training are specialists in ICT: Irina Vasiljeva, a representative of National Institute of Education, certified coach for the program Teach for Future, and Oksana Soroka, an associate professor from Belarus State Pedagogical University and manager of the experimental project on implementation of individual electronic devices at educational establishments.
The Hi-Tech Park Administration takes an active part in projects aimed at ICT usage at schools and universities of Belarus, including the international program Teach for Future.
