Hi-Tech Park and Google Launched a Joint Educational Project

20 November 2014

On November 20, the Hi-Tech Park and Google launched an online training course Google Basics for Teaching in Belarus. Teachers from Belarusian schools took part in the opening training session at the India-Belarus Digital Learning Center in ICT in Minsk and at the IT academies in Lida and Novopolotsk.

Gulnara Lastovetsky, Europe/Russia Educational Programs Coordinator at Google: "We believe that the best source of inspiration for teachers is their colleagues. Our international program Google Educator Group brings together teachers dedicated to their profession and willing to make their teaching more effective and interesting with the help of new information technologies. Google’s learning communities provide a platform for cooperation and exchange of experiences and ideas on how to use Google’s solutions in the educational process. Their events are held both in person and remotely: via Google+ teachers discuss topics they are interested in and share their observations, and during local seminars and other events people can meet in person and get to know each other better. Active users can coordinate local groups."

During the online course, Google’s experts will share their skills and Belarusian teachers will be able to exchange experiences with their colleagues around the world.

Teachers will learn how to bring today’s technologies into the classroom, including checking homework using Google Drive, interacting with students and their parents via Google’s platforms, discussing with students the works of art presented by the Google Cultural Institute and more.

Natalia Corobco, Country Business Development Manager at Google Belarus: "The Google’s main objective is to develop the Internet ecosystem in Belarus. We offer a basic online course for teachers on the use of modern technologies in the educational process. Internet services and tools help to make teaching more individual, awaken students’ interest in studying and simplify the administrative tasks while conducting classes."

To register for the course, visit the web-site http://g.co/basicsforteaching.

Videos, scenarios, various assignments and examples will help teachers discover new ways of creating significant learning experience for the students. Those who successfully complete final projects will get a certificate. The course is available from November 18 - December 19, 2014.
